Main springs are designed for axial movements of maximum 10 or 20 turns. The springs are supplied with a retaining ring, which must be carefully removed during assembly. On the outside, the spring is held on the edge of the housing or on a pin. On the inside, the spring should be mounted on a slotted axle. By expanding the inner end, the spring can also be mounted on a slightly larger axle. To keep friction as low as possible, the spring should be lubricated before mounting. Otherwise, the spring force can be reduced by up to 20%. If a higher torque is required, several springs can be mounted side by side. In this case, we recommend mounting a washer between the springs. Main springs are preloaded with 1.5 or 2.5 turns.
